Exhibition Concept:
“Moving Slowly, Living Fully” continues the emotional world of Gentle Collapse, but moves beyond the moment of collapse and enters the quiet space that comes after.
In Gentle Collapse, the mask was not a symbol of deception, but of self-protection. It represented a way of moving through the world while carrying vulnerability, uncertainty, and emotional weight. The cats appeared as silent witnesses, holding a sense of time, memory, and the quiet continuation of everyday life.
In this exhibition, the question shifts toward what happens when those masks are slowly put away. What does it mean to return to the world without constantly performing protection? Even when we try to present our true selves, the desire to put the mask back on can still return. The work reflects on this tension between hiding and revealing, belonging and honesty, protection and self-acceptance.
“Moving Slowly, Living Fully” is an introspective journey through growth, companionship, resilience, and the inner landscape. Like the story of the turtle and the rabbit, it values patience over speed, focus over urgency, and balance over rushing. Each step may be slow, but it remains grounded and deliberate.
As we age, we begin to understand that time is not expendable. Our priorities shift, and the way we see life also changes. The sculptural houses, viewed from a distance, suggest this change in perspective. They remind us that while we often become trapped inside small personal worries, there are larger things in life that ask for our attention: time, memory, care, connection, and the way we choose to live.
The boy represents the inner child, the part of the self shaped by early memories, emotions, and beliefs that continue to influence how we move through adulthood. The turtle becomes a metaphor for focus and steadiness in facing the world. The clouds suggest thoughts, goals, dreams, and the ideal life we continue to reach for. The cats represent the people who remain present in our lives: friends, family, and quiet witnesses to our becoming.
At the center of the exhibition is an interactive bed installation created in collaboration between Sleepy Tofu and MVM. The bed becomes a space of rest, support, and inner reflection. Surrounded by clouds, plants, sound, and soft visual elements, it invites the viewer into a calm, almost dreamlike environment where comfort becomes both physical and emotional. The mattress and pillows refer to bodily support, while the surrounding installation expands this idea into a deeper sense of care, recovery, and mental rest.
Through acrylic paintings, sculptural houses, cloud forms, cats, symbolic figures, and the collaborative bed installation, “Moving Slowly, Living Fully” explores how we continue to live with honesty, slowness, and care. This is an exhibition about learning when to protect, when to reveal, when to rest, and when to keep moving forward at one’s own pace.
