Exhibition Concept:
Taiwan is an island nation that has nurtured countless memories and stories through its unique coastline and rich ecology. The exhibition uses "shimmering light" and "tides" as dual imagery:
"Gleaming Isle" begins with the glistening sea surface, extending to the landscape memories of the island: the natural coastal appearances observed during the residency;
"Tidal Reverie" serves as a metaphor for the rhythm of nature and time, where the back-and-forth motion tugs at people's hearts and dreams.
This exhibition, set on this "Gleaming Isle," presents blooming lilies, resilient pandanus, rock textures, and the waxing and waning of the moon—all transformed into creative inspiration.
The exhibited works showcase the island's scenery through the different creative media of two artists. Fashion designer Tang Tsung Chien uses the texture, color, and structure of fabrics to transform real island experiences into a "Tidal Reverie": between protection and flow, allowing viewers to shuttle between the boundary of nature and dreams;
Artist Sammi preserves the land's memories in ceramic works and reflects landscape impressions through images, attempting to convey the fleeting moments of the island's nature.
