Exhibition Concept:

Creating art is like wading through a river on foot—sometimes getting stuck in the mud, sometimes nearly drowning. The opportunity for a breakthrough often feels like the clarity that comes after choking on water. The 2023 solo exhibition, titled "Already Crossed," referred to the state of groping one's way across a river in the creative process, facing the unknown on the other side. During that time, I spent two years creating 1,500 practice pieces. At one point, I was terrified that I was wasting my time. Yet, despite multiple struggles, I continued making these practice works because this creative journey brought me closer to my true self. I couldn't let go, fearing that if I disconnected, I would lose the thread I had been following.

The 2024 solo exhibition, "Overlook," signifies watching oneself continue crossing the river in a calm and unhurried state, where crossing the river does not equate to reaching a goal. Thus, the new series of black-and-white practice pieces began with a calm and appropriate start, and I will continue creating in this manner.

This exhibition showcases over 250 works, including 180 new pieces, with a focus on the new black and white series. We warmly invite you to visit and experience the exhibition.
