Exhibition Concept:
The term "Single" is often used to describe someone who does not have a partner. In today's society, the younger generation seems to place a significant emotional emphasis on whether or not they are "single." From astrology to MBTI, these concepts frequently emerge in the vast online communities. "Single" has seemingly become a benchmark for how we observe others. As the ways of observing others continue to diversify, it is not hard to see the extent of this obsession.
In the “No-partner House” exhibition, four creators from Generation Y approach the concept of "singleness" from different perspectives. Starting from the role of "single individuals," they describe their surroundings, breaking free from traditional notions of "singleness." They reimagine desire and selfhood, using humor or portraiture to examine their place in an ever-changing environment. Through this process, they invite viewers to step away from their usual narrative framework, offering a different experience in the “No-partner House”—one of mutual observation.
