Exhibition Concept:
“Reimagining Ecology” is a contemporary perspective on nature. It seeks to integrate modern spiritual sensibilities with the current ecological environment, extending into a modern approach to ikebana. Rooted in sustainability, it explores the diversity of botanical art and awakens our awareness of the dual responsibility to protect both nature and our inner world.
Using dried and preserved botanical materials, the plant sculptures expand the aesthetic perception of plants beyond the binary of “life and death.” The works challenge the traditional floral art model of passively harvesting natural materials and instead advocate for a collaborative relationship between the artist and the plant. Through reconstruction, transformation, and the fusion of different species, each leaf is imbued with new creative possibilities.
We live in an era that values connection and inclusivity, yet conventional botanical art often fails to reflect this diversity. A walk through the wild reveals that nature’s landscape is far more free and abundant than what traditional floral arrangements portray. As nature inherently echoes our inner longings, botanical art—serving as a meeting point between humans and nature—should also embody a sustainable and diverse sense of belonging.
Continuing the ethos of gently sharing this message, the works in this exhibition forgo standardized forms and floral aesthetics. Instead, they draw inspiration from the tenderness and inclusivity found in natural scenes such as rainy days, oceans, and forests. The exhibition gives tangible form to a “love of nature,” inviting visitors to enter without preconceptions and to experience a pure resonance with the artworks.
